Re: Spell Check suddenly not working

I had a similar problem
when I started using "English (Australia)" as my default
language. If you select a language for which there is no
spell-checking dictionary, spell check stops working. Note that this
is a per-character setting, and it's on the Format->Character->Font
panel, under Language. Try this: Open your document, go CTRL-A
(select all), select Format->Character->Font and under Language
chose a language with a "tickABC" icon next to it. If this
is your problem, you'll see red lines appear again under your
spelling mistakes.
If this solves your problem, make sure you've got a default language with a spellcheck dictionary selected in Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages->Default language for documents, so that spell checking works with your new documents. Also, check your Character styles in the organiser to make sure none of them specify a language for which no spell check dictionary exists.
