Mummified giants are monstrous undead that have undergone a process similar to that used to create a human mummy. Regardless of the type of giant the creature was while living, all mummified giants have the statistics listed above. Mummified giants hate the living, and their un-life lends supernatural power to their blows. Like their smaller kin, the touch of a mummified giant causes a horrible rotting disease. This disease progresses even faster than that of a standard mummy, and will prove fatal in but 1-6 weeks, with a permanent loss of 2 points of charisma per week. While diseased creatures cannot be affected by cure wounds spells, and natural healing is reduced to 10% of the normal rate. A cure disease spell will get rid of the rotting disease.

The mere sight of a mummified giant with in 9” will cause such fear and revulsion that unless a saving throw against paralyzation is successful victim will be paralyzed with fright for 1-4 melee rounds. Numbers give courage, and for every creature above 10 to 1 mummified giant the creatures get a +1 bonus to their saving throw.

Mummified Giants are harmed only by magical weapons, and even these do only half damage, dropping all fractions. Mummified giants are immune to sleep, charm, and hold spells, as well as all attacks dealing cold damage and poison, disease, and paralysis. The process of mummification leaves them vulnerable to fire however, a burning torch will cause 1-3 points of damage, flaming oil has double its usual effect, and spells that deal fire damage deal an additional +1 per die of damage. A raise dead spell cast at a mummified giant will slay it, unless it makes a saving throw against death magic. Mummified giants can be turned by a cleric as if they were Ghosts.

Opponents slain by a mummified giant rot away and cannot be raised from the dead unless a cure disease and raise dead spell are used within 6 turns.
