The Principalities of Glantri detailed red imps (who try to "damn" people, and get promoted within the Sphere of Enthropy after getting a certain number of mortals to sign things in their own blood) as well as blue imps, who work in the opposite direction. They are still silly-looking Little men with long noses, etc, but they actually come with angel wings and halo instead of bat wings and horns, and while red imps summon a Little pitchfork when they actually have to get physical, blue imps summon a tiny harp, which I *think* charmed people or so.
Likewise, BECMI had "homunculi", which here meant "familiar", and had lawful homunculi which strived to make things, uh, lawful, and looked like little cherubs in their true form.
